Volunteer Opportunities

NNREC is an entirely volunteer organization, and everything we accomplish is acomplished by volunteers. Please join us! Volunteer opportunities range from small and short term projects to major commitments that will change your life and the field of environmental education.

Volunteer Opportunities

Service on the board - Persons elected to the Board of Directors serve two year terms, meet at the annual meeting and three to seven additional times per year, and are often quite involved in committees, programs and projects that lead or offer environmental education. More info about board service is here.

Committees - Our committees need members. The committees plan and carry out much of the work of the oganization. Current committees are programs, nominations, legislative, and advisory. You need not be on the board, or even a member, to serve on a committee. Committees meet occassionally and conduct much of their work via email. More information about the committees is here.

Newsletter contributor - We are always looking for reports and articles for both the print newsletter, published spring and fall, and the email newsletter, sent about once a month. We especially appreciate information from the rural areas and from people with diverse perspectives.

Liaisons - These people facilitate communication between NNREC and other organizations, agencies and businesses by attending meetings and events of each organization, and reporting to each about the other. More information about the liaisons is here.

To volunteer, please contact Chair Dan Allison at 775-882-2375, or any other board member listed on the contacts page.
