NNREC Scholarship Fund
The NNREC Scholarship Fund offers scholarships to individuals for these purposes:
- university or community college students entering environmental education or pre-service teaching
- high school students attending summer programs that NNREC partners in, including High Sierra Resource Workshop and Sierra Mountain Adventure
- environmental education conferences in Nevada
- NAAEE Conference
Apply
At this time, NNREC does not have a formal application process for scholarship. Please contact the NNREC Director, director@nnrec.org, to inquire about current opportunities.
The scholarship program is an NNREC membership benefit, therefore scholarship recipients must be a member of NNREC (you may apply before becoming a member; if you are awarded a scholarship you must then join before receiving your check). High school students are excepted from the membership requirement.
In order that we can direct scholarship funds to those most in need, financial need and diversity are considered in evaluating applications. Diversity means that you are a member of a population that is under-represented in the field of environmental education. However, the primary criteria for award is the ability of the applicant to express their passion for environmental education and describe how the scholarship will further their ability to contribute to the field of environmental education.
Donate
The NNREC Scholarship Fund is funded by donations from our members and other supporters. NNREC also sets aside a small portion of its annual budget for the scholarship program. Please support the program by making a donation.
We use Network for Good to receive donations to our scholarship fund, with a $10 minimum. Please put "scholarship" in the "Designation" field. Please note that your credit card statement will read Network for Good, but the money still comes to NNREC. A 4.75% credit card processing fee is deducted. All donations through Network for Good are tax deductible.
Click on the Network for Good icon on the left to start your donation process. Thank you! You can select the degree of anonymity that works for you.
