NNREC will establish an endowment fund to ensure the long-term stability of the organization and our efforts. We are holding donations in a conservative mutual fund account (Vanguard STAR) until the time when we have accumulated enough funds to establish an endowment with one of the Nevada community foundations. Once the endowment is established, investment income will be used for our scholarship fund (25%), operating expenses (25%), and reinvestment (50%).

The NNREC Operations Fund supports basic operations which are not or cannot be funded by project grants. Examples are board travel and training, website and newsletter (which are partially but not entirely funded by membership dues), and our coordination and collaboration efforts, which again are only partially funded by grants.
We use Network for Good to receive donations to our funds, with a $10 minimum. Please note that your credit card statement will read Network for Good, but the money still comes to NNREC. A 4.75% credit card processing fee is deducted, and you may add this to your donation if you wish. All donations through Network for Good are tax deductible.
Donations to the funds are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, and NNREC is a 501(c)3 Education and Public Benefit Corporation.
All donations of $20 or more will be acknowleged with a thank you card and donation receipt.
For all of our funds, we offer named contribution levels, shown below, and a "choose your own amount" option.
- Bristlecone $2000 or more: The Bristlecone Pine (Pinus aristata) is one of two Nevada state trees. It is the oldest tree (though creosote bush clones may be older), over 4000 years, and grows high in many of Nevada's isolated mountain ranges.
- Pinon Pine $1000 or more: The second state tree, Pinon Pine (Pinus monophylla) is widespread across the middle elevations of Nevada.
- Desert Bighorn Sheep $500 or more: The Desert Bighorn Sheep (Ovis canadensis nelsoni) is at home in the rocky desert ranges of Nevada, our most majestic native species.
- Sagebrush $100 or more: Sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata) is a member of the sunflower family, not the sage family, but has a wonderful aroma especially after rains. It fills the valleys and foothills throughout much of the state.
- Choose your own amount: You can donate any amount, from $10 to $1,000,000.
