Membership
Membership in the Nevada Natural Resource Education Council (NNREC) is available to individuals, organizations, agencies and businesses which support the mission of NNREC, to develop and promote natural resource education in Nevada.
Membership is renewable at the beginning of every calendar year, starting January 1. Membership started in the last quarter of the year (Oct-Dec) will be extended through the next year.
- Regular: $20, for persons supportive of the mission of NNREC
- Professional: $40, for persons supportive of the mission of NNREC and employed in a position with a significant responsibility in environmental or natural resource education
- Nonprofit: $60, for nonprofit organizations supportive of the mission of NNREC
- Institutional: $80, for agencies and businesses supportive of the mission of NNREC
Though there is no longer a student membership rate, NNREC does offer scholarships for particular events for full-time students, and Americorp and VISTA members.
Our members are key supporters who make is possible to for us to offer a variety of programs.

NNREC is in turn a proud member of several organizations.

Member Benefits
The benefits of membership in NNREC will be:
- voting at the annual meeting to elect the Board of Directors, and in any other matter before the membership including modification of bylaws (see specific policy)
- nominating persons for election to the Board of Directors
- serving on the Board of Directors, if elected, and on standing and ad-hoc committees of the organization, if selected by the Board of Directors (see specific policy)
- attending conferences and other functions of the organization, for which membership is required; additional fees may be set for the services provided (see specific policy)
- receiving printed newsletters, usually one per year, and email newsletters, usually once per month
- access to the NNREC lending library
- scholarship program
- support of the activities and mission of NNREC
Professional Membership adds:
- invitation to participate in the NNREC Advisory Council which meets once or twice per year to advise the board
- subscription to the quarterly Clearing Magazine ($18 value)
Nonprofit and institutional membership adds:
- recognition on the NNREC website
- free posting of jobs, events, workshops, links and other information on the NNREC website
- provision of one web page for any entity that does not have a web site
This website, though available to everyone, is directly supported by membership dues and would otherwise not exist. You are contributing to a statewide infrastrucure and capacity building in environmental education, a voice for environmental education programs and adequate staffing with federal, state, and local agencies, a well as organizations and businesses. NNREC is the strongest proponent of environmental education inclusion in education standards, assessments, and classroom instruction. NNREC participates in and supports the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) and the Affiliates Network, which is in turn a strong voice for environmental education at the national and international level.
Privacy
NNREC does not share member contact information with agencies, organizations or businesses. Occassionally we will mail materials provided by closely related nonprofit organizations or agencies to our members, but we do not provide our membership database nor mailing labels to them. We also have a privacy policy.
